Motorola hands Delaware State Police biometric tools

Motorola has been awarded a contract by the Delaware State Police to deploy its multi-biometric identification system, Printrak.

Printrak is an integrated biometrics system that stores a variety of information including fingerprints, palmprints, iris prints, facial images, signatures metrics, and descriptive information of the person fur use in areas such as job applications, e-passport and criminal investigation reports.

The police force said that the system would be used for both civil employment background checks and criminal identification and would provide law enforcement personnel with enhanced identification capabilities and greater crime solving tools.

"The system provides full biometric integration and interoperability, for a comprehensive solution for civil applicants and criminal identification and verification," said Darrin Reilly, general manager of Motorola?s Biometrics Unit.

"The award of this key state contract is another indication that our technology is the most advanced and most flexible COTS based solution in the industry."
