In order to provide you with the appropriate LPR technology and install conditions, would you mind if I asked you a few questions?

Do you see LPR as being a crucial key competence for your organisation, that is do you wish to program and build applications using LPR OR would you rather just have an appropriate product provided as and when you have requests?

IF YES to the above: I suggest we provide you with a LPR DLL, around which you can develop solutions, either with our help or alone.

With a good programmer, you have a working LPR system within 2-3 days, getting possibly 90-99.5% accuracy, depending on the hardware you use.

IF NO: I suggest you let SPS find the BEST LPR system for your needs and EITHER sell, rent or work together with you in a JV / cost per transaction model.

Do you have a DESIRE for accuracy, or is that not important? 

Do you have a BUDGET?

Do you know how many of these systems you want?

Do you have a DATABASE you need to link into, or can I create one for you?  How big MIGHT this get AND how quickly do you need this updated?

Do you want a WIRELESS REAL TIME (sub-second update) or are you happy to update the DATA MANUALLY now and then?

Do you know if the system must operate during the day, or at night too?

Do you know the number of vehicles per second coming along?

Can I place a loop in the road or must I find other ways (motion) to trigger?

How many LANES per system do you require, and how many cameras?  1 to 64, to unlimited?

Do you need to know JUST the license plate, and not the:

-          Driver

-          Colour of car

-          Rear compared to front plate

-          Shape of car

-          Weight of the vehicle

-          Other details?

What do you want to do with the data? Do you need to:

-          Alarm (audio / visual / cell / SMS / LAN / etc.)

-          LOG

-          Determine speed

-          Compare to a database, and how big a database, made up of what?

-          Audit (post analysis)

-          Have access to it in real time?

The LPR system you wish, can it be EMBEDDED or a WINDOWS OR LINUX software?
