| THE FOLLOWING ARE QUESTIONS TO ASK, OR ITEMS TO BE RESOLVED WHEN AN INITIAL REQUEST FOR AN LPR SYSTEM COMES IN: | |

DEMOS LPR Demo of RSA Customised Plates. zip (3 MB) SPEED DETERMINATION DEMO (2 MB) Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) for Law Enforcement KZN gets high-tech speed cameras New speed monitoring system tested Reference Sites Particulars of LPR projects carried out successfully |
In order to provide you with the
appropriate LPR technology and install conditions,
would you mind if I asked you a few questions? Do you see LPR as being a crucial key
competence for your organisation, that
is do you wish to program and build applications using LPR OR would you
rather just have an appropriate product provided as and when you have
requests? IF YES
to the above: I suggest we provide you with a
LPR DLL, around which you can develop solutions, either with our help or
alone. With a good programmer, you have a working
LPR system within 2-3 days, getting possibly 90-99.5% accuracy,
depending on the hardware you use. IF NO: I suggest you let SPS find the BEST
LPR system for your needs and EITHER sell, rent or work together with
you in a JV / cost per transaction model. SPS will source, build, deliver and support
your LPR request, and you will have a working solution (up to 99.9999%)
within 24 hrs. Could you tell me more about your
application? Is it: -
LOW SPEED (less than 60 km per hour) o
Roadblocks o
Access control o
Tolls o
Etc -
MEDIUM SPEED (less than 120 km per
hour) o
Logging o
Counting o
Etc -
High Speed (more than 120 km per
hour) o
Automatic toll o
Police o
Etc Do you have existing hardware, such as
cameras, PC, cars, trailer, other equipment I can integrate into? OR can I spec everything? Would you like a FIXED site, I.E. on a
bridge, tri-pod boom, tollgate, speed camera, etc. OR Is it mobile, as in a police car, where the
driver rides around with the camera LIVE, picking up the cars as they
pass him OR as he drives through a shopping centre? Do you have a DESIRE for accuracy, or is
that not important? Do you have a BUDGET? Do you know how many of these systems you
want? Do you have a DATABASE you need to link
into, or can I create one for you?
How big MIGHT this get AND how quickly do you need this updated? Do you want a WIRELESS REAL TIME
(sub-second update) or are you happy to update the DATA MANUALLY now and
then? Do you know if the system must operate
during the day, or at night too? Do you know the number of vehicles per
second coming along? Can I place a loop in the road or must I
find other ways (motion) to trigger? How many LANES per system do you require,
and how many cameras? 1 to
64, to unlimited? Do you need to know JUST the license plate,
and not the: -
Driver -
Colour of car -
Rear compared to front plate -
Shape of car -
Weight of the vehicle -
Other details? What do you want to do with the data? Do
you need to: -
Alarm (audio / visual / cell / SMS /
LAN / etc.) -
LOG -
Determine speed -
Compare to a database, and how big a
database, made up of what? -
Audit (post analysis) -
Have access to it in real time? The LPR system you wish, can it be EMBEDDED
or a WINDOWS OR LINUX software? Sorry to ask you so many questions, but the
MORE I know, the better I can pick from the WIDE range of LPR solutions
SPS provides. Send the ANSWERS to the above questions to I-CUBE via the contact details below and you will get the best system for your requirements. See/Lane application is also available in a simulated version - which is available on our web-site. Visit our Home page http://www.I-Cube.co.za and download recognition demo players, see sample applications and get updated information. Qualified customers also receive on-line updates in the support page. Visit our Home page http://www.I-Cube.co.za and download:
We also recommend to install pcAnywhere with TCPIP connection. This software package will allow us to view the on-line operation, fine-tune the parameters, download images and update the software. See more details in the web site support page.
