SeePlane is a vision-based multi-lane recognition system designed for identifying airplane tail numbers. The SeePlane system includes both hardware and software, and can accommodate up to six separate lanes per system.   The system identifies FAA standard fixed-wing aircraft markings that appear on the vertical tail surfaces or the sides of the fuselage. It then sends the recognition results to a client application, including the marking, the image file path, the lane number, date and time.   The following screen snapshot shows a sample capture of an aircraft. The recognized identification marking is displayed on top of the image, and a history of previous recognitions is shown is the history list below the image.       This snapshot is an actual installation in Australia, which is part of a larger maintenance management system that logs the airplanes that enter or leave a maintenance hangar.   SeePlane major features are:  The program is the basis for a wide range of applications  Handles single or multiple lanes (1-6 lanes, each lane with different characteristics  easily changed by a password-controlled setting menu)  Easy configuration settings: communication, device interface, sensor types, capture and illumination modes  SeePlane can run in background (as black box) and send DDE messages to your client application (samples and source code are provided)  Cuts time-to-market - a tailored application can be prepared and integrated in a few days!  Automatic image recording option  Hardware kit is included (frame grabber, IO card and interface, sensor interface). Note that the cameras/illumination units and trigger sensor is supplied by the integrator.  Released for Win 2000   Contact us for more details...             SeePlane recognition player You should first download the ZIP file, saving the file to a directory. Then, extract the file (using Winzip) into a subdirectory. Be sure that you activate the application only after extracting the files to a subdirectory. To execute the demo, activate the extracted .exe file. The demo loads and displays each of the images, performs actual number plate recognition, and displays the result on the player display. The identified code is displayed at the bottom window. The history of these identifications, the file processed by the player, and the actual time required to identify the image are shown in the right window.
