MIGDAL HA'EMEK,
Israel — Hi-Tech Solutions has commercialized its SeeGate2
second-generation gate optical-character-recognition (OCR)
portal system. HTS says it has received orders for 29 of the
systems, from five European terminals, following completion
of a pilot installation in Belgium.
SeeGate2 provides
five-tier container ID redundancy, multispectrum license
plate recognition, color imaging, damage inspection and IMO
label recognition.
The U.S.
Department of Homeland Security uses HTS' rail
container-tracking system at the central rail station in Los
Angeles. The system comprises recognition subsystems and
software to track and verify shipping container ID markings.
For truck payloads, both the container ID and the license
plate are recognized. The system can check labels against
manifests.
Homeland Security
is evaluating another HTS system, SeeCrane, for use at U.S.
ports. The OCR system automatically reads and records a ship
container's ISO code number as a crane handles the
container. The system integrates with the crane control
system and the port's information network.
Together with
InTranS Group of New York, HTS is also nearing completion of
a contract to supply roughly 60 medium and high-speed
license plate recognition (LPR) systems for installation at
on-ramps, off-ramps and toll booths, as well as at various
points along the highway itself, on San Diego's Route 125. |
