Our B&B is found in the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
This is a lovely scenic route wanders inland up Fields Hill, past
the select residential area of Kloof, the charming village of
Hillcrest, and into the rolling countryside of Botha's Hill,
Assagay and Drummond. Off-shoots of the route take visitors
through the Krantzkloof Gorge, along the valley floor following
the course of the Umgeni River and down to Shongweni with its
dramatic sandstone cliffs.
Highlights of the 1000 Hills Experience are interactive Zulu
cultural villages, microlighting, bush drives, horse trails,
nurseries, canoeing, children's animal farms and game viewing. As
you journey along the route, you will be delighted by the variety
of crafts and the opportunity to watch artists at work. Enjoy warm
hospitality at roadside pubs and country hotels with breathtaking
views over the Valley. It's close enough to drive for a day trip,
and if you want
to linger longer you can stay with us where we will make your stay

The Durban area is subtropical and fairly constant all year
round with high humidity levels on the coast during summer; inland
areas more temperate such as Gillitts, and Hillcrest where
Campbell's B&B is found.
Winter temperatures range from 11-25ºC, and Summer
temperatures range from 19-35ºC.
There is also the local Virgin Active Gym in Kloof for the
energetic. Walking, Running and Cycling is popular in the highway
area because of it's cooler climate and scenic luscious vegetation
and bird life.

You are really spoilt for choice when staying with us. You may
choose from the many restaurants available in the highway area.

away delivery (chinese, pizza, etc.) is also available if you feel
like staying in.
There are a few places to have a relaxing few drinks. For a great
atmosphere try Stokers Arms a Pub in Kloof, the Office where there
is live music or the Keg in Hillcrest
Grocery shopping is about 5 mins down the road by car found in
Hillcrest or Kloof. The Larger shopping centres you will find in
Westville and Umhlanga. The Pavillion in Westville is
15mins away, while the new Theatre of Shopping - Gateway is
about 25min away in Umhlanga.
KRANTZKLOOF NATURE RESERVE - OVERVIEW
This nature resere is situated in Kloof, between Hillcrest and
Pinetown, near Durban. With the Molweni River running through
it, the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve is a fine example of coastal
forest and grasslands. Proclaimed in 1950, the reserve covers
600 hectares. Wildlife includes zebra, bushbuck, blue, red and
grey duiker, vervet monkey,
rock hyrax, slender mongoose, white-tailed mongoose,
egyptian mongoose, banded mongoose, water monitor and genet.
Birdlife is abundant, with over 200 species on record. The
reserve has an interesting variety of indigenous flora. 20 km of
nature walks and two picnic sites are available. These
atttractive picnic areas are located at Kloof Falls and 5 kms
from the falls where the Nkutu stream crosses Valley Drive and
both are equiped with barbecue facilities and ablutions. There
are two view sites to take in the breathtaking beauty of
Krantzkloof Gorge. An Activities Centre, equiped with basic
conference facilities, is available for use by education groups
and other parties.
